How did you get into your sport?

My Mum was a hockey player and represented GB at the Olympics so hockey was always a big part of my life. I was pitch side with her since I was a child, and started playing at kids sessions when I was 4.

What are the best and most challenging things about your sport?

I love being a part of a team, where I am working for the benefit of my friends around me. I constantly feel supported by those around me, and never feel alone while on the pitch.

What have been your biggest achievements to date?

One of my proudest moments was captaining the Scotland under 18s team to win European Championship B, winning Scotland promotion. The year after this, I was also part of the under 21 team who again won promotion to the A division of our Europeans. For me, I have never been more proud than when representing my country.

What are your goals in your sport?

My long term goal is to make the full Scotland women’s team. This year has been tough as it has been hard to try progress as an individual when training is limited and there are no game opportunities.

What do you do to relax when you’re not training or competing?

To relax, I enjoy going on long walks at the weekend with my family to clear my head. I also enjoy reading and baking, although during term time I don’t do this as often as I tend to have lots of work to be catching up on!

Who is your sporting icon, and why?

My sporting icon is my Mum as she’s achieved so much in her life which I am now striving to achieve. I look up to her as she is just a normal person in my life who has worked hard, and is now helping me push myself as she did. This is important to me as she’s not only my sporting icon, but someone I look up to in all aspects of my life.

Tell us a fun fact…

Every member of my family has played hockey for Scotland, in different age groups.
