Chris Sellar completes his 28 day challenge; now it’s over to the rest of us

Oriam’s Sport & Partnerships Manager, Chris Sellar, has today completed the incredible feat of running 10k every single day in the 28 days up to the first anniversary of losing Mum, Hilary, to suicide. He is now asking those of us who are able, to cycle, walk or run 10k before the end of January in support of the cause and to share our efforts online using #RunForHilz

The challenge has raised thousands of pounds and awareness for two charities, Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide and Back Onside. You can find out more and donate at Chris’s online fundraising page and see the whole journey on Instagram.

Chris has been joined on almost every run by a friendly human, or Betsy the dog, and the WattFamily has been out in force with many a former HWU Sports President getting invovled and showing their support.

One of those fomer Presidents, Oriam Executive Director Ross Campbell said, “the difficulty of this challenge, both physically and emotionally, cannot be overestimated and we are incredibly proud of Chris for everything he has done. His openness in sharing his experience has both allowed us to support him and helped others whose lives have been impacted by suicide. He is a tremendous role model for students and colleagues alike.”

From all of us at the Sports Union, a huge congratulations to Chris for all he has achieved.
