Watt a Semester!

This semester has undoubtedly been a very strange one but we made it our own and we are proud to say that sport did happen, whether it was virtual or physical.

With semester one wrapping up, we have had more time to reflect on the last 4 months which have felt like a lifetime with the different rules and so many different changes. We managed to finish the semester with 80% of our 32 sports clubs operating in some way which we couldn’t have done without the staff team from the Sports Union to Oriam, and most importantly the Club Committees. These guys have been working tirelessly since before the start of term (which is not needed normally) alongside managing University and other commitments to make sure that their club complied with COVID-19 guidelines and did their best to recruit and engage members into their club.

With time to reflect, we managed to create a video (see below) to round up the semester and portray how much we did actually do in the past couple of months. This is a great way to look back and be proud of the activity that did happen and what was achieved.

We just want to say a big thank you to everyone for sticking around, getting involved and being patient as there will hopefully be some normality soon.

There is a lot of exciting things planned for Semester 2 so please keep an eye out on our social media and get ready to have some fun starting in January!

Massive good luck to everyone who has exams and enjoy the break, it is very well deserved. If you are struggling or need someone to chat, please get in touch – it is okay not to be okay.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
