Favourite Sporting Moment: Being a part of the Football 1s team winning the Royal Double, the Queens Park Shield at Oriam for the first time in 16 years and the King Cup!
Most excited about within President: I am excited to connect with all our clubs and members and welcome new people into our Sports Union family. I am also looking forward to adding to our university experience, allowing students to make the most of their time here at Heriot-Watt by getting involved with sport, making memories and creating friendships!
President Role
The Sports Union President works full-time alongside the staff team and is the figurehead for the SU, positively representing us across and beyond the University. They also manage the SU Executive Committee, lead our volunteers and oversee the journey from prospective students right through to alumni. What does the SU mean to Dan?
To me, the Sports Union has been so much more than just about playing sport. It is the place where I have met my closest friends and found my support network. I always knew I wanted to play sport whilst at Uni, but I never knew all the other opportunities that would be available to me at Heriot-Watt. As well as representing HW in 4 different sports, I have also been a part of three committees and volunteered as a sports ambassador. From these opportunities, I was able to learn and develop skills and become a part of the Watt family.
