Watt is Hockey?
Teams of 11 players play with a stick and pass the ball around looking to break into the shooting circle and score into a goal! Hockey is a fun and inclusive sport with the club providing opportunities for both experienced and new players. Hockey is a simple and enjoyable sport to pick up so whether or not you have played before everyone is welcome. The Heriot Watt hockey club is one of the largest mixed sports clubs within the sports union and strikes a great balance between sporting and social opportunities.

Ladies 2 – BUCS Scottish Division 5B
Training
Training is once a week at Peffermill playing fields on a Monday evening. We run back-to-back sessions, with both the men’s and women’s 2s teams training from 7:00-8:30. This is followed by both the men’s and women’s 1s teams training from 8:30-10pm. Transport will be available for those travelling from Campus.
The club also participates in a recreational league, with games most Friday evenings at Peffermill playing fields. These are mixed games that are a great opportunity to play with different people throughout the club in a more relaxed environment.
Coaches
Our coaches are going to be supplied from our sister club Watsonians. We have close ties with the club with many of our members playing and training with Watsonians and playing games every Saturday. This partnership is a great opportunity for our members to integrate into a larger community as well as improving their hockey with more gametime.
