How did you get into your sport?

I started playing beach volleyball from a very young age since my parents were always taking me and my brother down to the beach so that they could play in tournaments. I used to go and find a ball and would try to copy what they were doing.

What are the best and most challenging things about your sport?

The best thing about beach volleyball is when you manage to pick up a good shot from the opposition and then turn it around so that you hit an even better shot to win the point. The most challenging aspect of beach volleyball is dealing with the wind and learning how to use it to your advantage.

What have been your biggest achievements to date?

My proudest moment would be when I won the St Andrews king of the beach tournament. I always used to watch it when I was younger and entered into it a few times but was never able to jump high enough to be a threat to the opposition, until now! I even beat my dad šŸ™‚

What are your goals in your sport?

I would like to be able to compete in the next Commonwealth Games, as well as compete internationally more.

What do you do to relax when you’re not training or competing?

When Iā€™m not training or competing I Iike to do 100m and sprint training on the track as it keeps me fit when the beach volleyball season is over.

Who is your sporting icon?

Taylor Crabb, as he is a very agile player on the court but is also able to hit the ball harder than most other players he comes up against. He is able to read the game very well and I try to implement a lot of what he does into my games.
