How did you get into your sport?

I first start playing hockey when I was in P7 at St Margaret’s school for Girls, in Aberdeen. Initially, I had played football before joining the school but as it was an all girls school, it wasn’t so popular. I realised hockey was popular so I started playing and it was instantly I found a new passion.

What are the best and most challenging things about your sport?

There are so many good things about hockey but in my opinion, the best thing about hockey is the passion and determination in players which is seen on the pitch, so when my team is losing I can feel how much we are determined to get the goals back and when we do it’s an amazing feeling. The most challenging aspect is managing hockey and education together as I want to excel in both which takes a huge amount of time management.

What have been your biggest achievements to date?

My proudest moment was scoring two goals in a match against Ireland playing for the U19 Scotland National squad. Initially we were losing and the goals brought the game back to win it.

What are your goals in your sport?

I am hoping to progress through the Scotland development and hopefully I can be playing on TV! Until then, I am only improving as much as I can in hockey.

What do you do to relax when you’re not training or competing?

Catching up on uni work! It takes up a lot of time to be an athlete. But if I do have time, I like cooking food and watching a movie, only time I get to stay off my feet so I’ll take it.

Who is your sporting icon, and why?

My sporting icon is Michael Jordan because he has a next level mindset

Tell us a fun fact…

One time during indoor hockey, the other team were losing and became very aggressive so ended up only having 3 players on the court, which is little when there’s only 5 players in the team! It was funny to play against as it’s never happened before.
