How did you get into your sport?

I did loads of sport as a kid and loved the competitive side of all of them. For me judo was the sport that allowed me to channel all that extra energy I had; I think my parents were just glad I wasn’t so aggressive at home afterwards!

What are the best and most challenging things about your sport?

Judo is a mentally challenging sport. I have always found it the hardest sport for losing in and the best sport for winning in. The reason I love it so much is because you are never done learning and you constantly have new things to work on.

What have been your biggest achievements to date?

  • Bronze at EYOF 2017 (European Youth Olympic festival).
  • Winning Glasgow 2018 European Open
  • Five Junior European Cup medals in 2019

What are your goals in your sport?

In the short term I want to qualify for 2022 Commonwealth Games and 2024 Olympics. By the end of my career I want to have won medals at every major event (Euros/Worlds/Olympics).

What do you do to relax when you’re not training or competing?

I love cooking and make very good sourdough bread. I also love going out for brunch!

Who is your sporting icon, and why?

Sally Conway. I’m inspired by how hard and diligently she trains and how humble she is off and on the judo mat.
