How did you get into your sport?

I started skiing when I lived in Alaska when I was 13, so I was a bit later to the sport. But having so many friends in Alaska doing it really pushed me to train hard and get as fast as them.

What are the best and most challenging things about your sport?

The best part of skiing is traveling to a range of amazing locations for competition and being out in nature all the time. But it is a challenge in the UK as there is no snow or cross country ski trails.

What have been your biggest achievements to date?

I have been very proud to have represented GB at World Junior Championships in the past 3 years. I have also been moving up in the rankings through that time as well.

What are your goals in your sport?

I am hoping to compete at U23 World Championships this Febuary, as well as qualify to be in the World Cup Team for GB. The biggest goal is to race at World Championships and the Olympics.

What do you do to relax when you’re not training or competing?

I also compete in mountain running and have represented Scotland internationally for it. It is nice to be able to focus on another sport. I also build and ride lots of mountain bike trails.

Who is your sporting icon, and why?

One of my sporting icons is Kilian Jornet, one the most decorated mountain runners and ski mountaineers. He has a very driven work ethic, which is balanced with a complete love of nature. That connection to nature is what I find most inspiring.

Tell us a fun fact…

I grew up abroad, and before living in Alaska I was in Indonesia and had never even heard of cross country skiing at that point!
