How did you get into your sport?

I have an older brother who played football and I was always interested in joining in. I think he needed someone to shoot into so that is how I became a goalkeeper! I tried out various other sports and clubs when I was younger such as dancing, gymnastics and guitar lessons but when they ended up clashing with football training there was only one winner.

What are the best and most challenging things about your sport?

Being a goalkeeper is challenging as only one person can play that position at the one time and for you to get your chance relies on the other goalkeeper not performing. This is especially tough as the best part about football is being part of a team and having that unique bond. So you want the team to be as successful as possible and that might mean you have to wait longer than you would like for your chance to play.

What have been your biggest achievements to date?

  • Playing youth level for Scotland up to under 19s and being part of the Under 19s squad that was part of the 2017 u19 European Championship Finals.
  • Getting game time against Wolfsburg in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Quarter Final.
  • Recently signing a professional, full time contract for Glasgow City.

What are your goals in your sport?

Be first choice goalkeeper for my club and play for Scotland A squad.

What do you do to relax when you’re not training or competing?

I enjoy going out for coffee or food with friends and family. Uni work also takes most my time when I’m not training, but I wouldn’t call that relaxing 🙂 Apart from that I have 2 dogs at home that I like to take on nice walks.

Who is your sporting icon, and why?

Artur Boruc was the first goalkeeper I can remember watching so he was always my favourite growing up. When I started going to watch Scotland women games Gemma Fay became someone I looked up to. The number of caps she has achieved is extremely admirable and something I don’t think will ever be matched in this country.
