How did you get into your sport?

I started around 14/15 summer time walking by a canal and thought that looks hard and unique, ever since I’ve inspired myself by trying to be someone I think I’d want to be.

What are the best and most challenging things about your sport?

Once you’ve nailed a good technique it becomes effortless, but you have to nail it first and the feel goes faster than it comes.

What have been your biggest achievements to date?

Placing 13th in the world at juniors.

What are your goals in your sport?

I’m hoping to join the British team and place in the final A category for c1 1000m at European championships and worlds.

What do you do to relax when you’re not training or competing?

When I’m not training I will often be found enjoying boxing, it’s a great stress relief otherwise I like to keep a constant work ethic going.

Who is your sporting icon, and why?

Myself I usually don’t look up to people as I want to be someone different from the rest.

Tell us a fun fact…

During a mock competition ( not important one, just for fun) I luckily miss times which race I was in going into a race with top athletes. At the time I was only 16 although this is nothing too crazy as that is the point of competition it’s a bit of fun to pair too athletes with youngsters. However the race I was supposed to be in had a bad start due to someone holding their boat tipping them in thinking it was me. This poor man went on to blow up on a lot of meme pages… glad that wasn’t me.
