Six Clubs have been awarded WattMark Gold for 2020, in a first for the Sports Union!

WattMark is the Sports Union’s club accreditation scheme, designed to support, guide and drive the sustainability and development of our clubs. For the 2020 awards, clubs were given an additional opportunity to demonstrate how well they had responded to the Covid-19 pandemic. There was no shortage of impressive stories of hard work, innovation and creativity from our dedicated volunteers.

Between adapting training sessions in response each change of rules (so many changes…), and putting in a huge amount of time and effort since the summer into completing new risk assessments and keeping up with governing body guidelines, our volunteer comittees also found the time to organise alternative online socials and make new members feel welcome on walks up Arthur’s Seat and in the Pentlands.
