The following policy and additional guidance is designed to help SU Clubs, Members and Coaches enjoy sport and club activities safely.

Changing Rooms

Policy:

  • Follow relevant SGB/ League guidance
  • Where possible, changing rooms for matches will be provided (outdoor sports & away teams will be prioritised)
  • Teams may be split among more than one changing room, whenever possible
  • Changing rooms for training may not be provided (outdoor sports will again be prioritised)

Guidance to reduce risk:

  • 1m distancing at all times
  • Masks must be worn while changing
  • Sit in households/ who you shared transport with
  • Stagger usage in small groups – i.e 8 people in at one time
  • Come changed as much/ whenever possible
  • Seating plan
  • Change in less than 15mins

Transport

Policy:

  • Minibus used to normal capacity
  • Car sharing allowed

Guidance to reduce risk:

  • Windows open to help ventilation
  • Travel with same people to and from venue and sit in the same seats
  • Masks on at all times
  • Wipe down minibuses after use with cleaning equipment provided

Track & Trace

Policy:

  • Training – booking via Oriam app
  • Matches – via team lines (primarily on BUCS play)
  • No requirement to track & trace opposition – they are responsible for this.
  • Follow guidance

Covid Outbreak Management

  • Take 2 lateral flow tests per week to identify virus before spread. If positive book a PCR test and do not attend SU activity/ Oriam until negative.
  • Do not attend a session if you have any symptoms and go get tested.
  • If you or a close contact of yours has either caught virus or has been in contact with someone who has the virus don’t wait to get “pinged” as a close contact, go and get a PCR test immediately and as a precaution and wait until you get a negative test before coming back into SU activity/ Oriam.
  • Report any positive tests to our SU Covid Officer – Graeme Ormiston.

Vaccination Centre

The University is delighted to announce that we will be hosting an NHS Vaccination Centre in the Ground Floor area of the Postgraduate Centre at the Edinburgh Campus. 

The Vaccination centre will offer a drop–in service for all students, staff and the local community and will operate between 12 – 7pm during welcome week (Monday 6 – Friday 10 September) and week one of the new academic year (Tuesday 14 – Sunday 19 September). Please note you do not need an appointment or be registered with a GP to get your vaccine.
